Carry On Then...

Next stop:

Sir Toby’s.

But first:

Rudy kindly drives us to our hostel, but takes us via the longer, more scenic route, the road winding through older parts of town. We bump along cobbled roads, by centuries old buildings, passing only one Starbucks on the way - what land is this? Some fairy tale, perhaps, untouched by much of the modern world - except, you know, with cars and electric lights, and signs for free Wi-Fi and so on.

Where there aren’t large, ancient buildings, there are old stone walls, or parks, the street is crowded with night life and the other drivers appear to be vaguely maniacal. It is explained to us that when we attempt to cross roads, the only way to be safe is to pretend that we are invisible, and that everyone else is completely mad. It’s nice to know that there’s a safe method, but somehow the whole idea isn’t terribly comforting. Rather, it is comforting in a terrifying way.

A small amount of time passes and we coast on by a large wall, behind which rests Prague Castle. The top of it pokes out behind said wall, and various trees, and while it is impressive to see, we have no idea just how mindblown we will be by it in a few days time….
